- How did you get into the dubbing world?I started by singing the opening credits of Candy (キャンディ・キャンディ / Candy Candy) for television thanks to Charles Level, the lyricist, who had the occasion to hear my voice...

After Candy, I've been asked to try out for an audition for The Rescuers (Les Aventures de Bernard et Bianca in French)... I've been chosen... And during the recording, there was the American supervisor almost under my nose. I was very intimidated but it went very well. Perette Pradier (voice actress, voice of Medusa in The Rescuers) and Roger Carel (voice actor, voice of Bernard in The Rescuers), who were recording their parts too, were wonderful to me and complimented me.

For Cinderella, again a singing audition, but also a speaking one this time because Disney USA wanted one voice for both speaking and singing parts. I've been lucky to be chosen... My voice matched well to what they wanted. I've started by the songs and, like I wasn't a comedian, to put me at ease, they made me record alone for the speaking parts.
I didn't reprise the role in the sequels, I wasn't proposed to. I didn't get the chance to see them, I should do it. |
