- How did you get the role of Tzipporah's singing voice?
A woman name Claude Lombard saw me on stage when I was performing Le Passe Muraille in Paris’ Bouffes Parisiens and asked me to audition. There were lots of other candidates, we recorded the song and then the recordings were sent to the United-States labelled with numbers, no names would appear until they made their decision. That’s how they chose my voice.
Unfortunately, I didn't autidion for the speaking parts. Things were, and are still very separated in arts in France.

- How was it to record "When You Believe"?
The recording was fascinating, the Americans had a very precise idea of what they wanted and it was interesting finding the balance between their expectations and the feelings I had about the character. Sensitivity is different from a language to another.
I loved the song, the choir at the end is absolutely breathtaking. And it was amazing for me to sing it at that very moment in my life. I was just out of my first big show and I didn’t know what was coming next, I felt very insecure and "When You Believe" was like a sign for me to go on :)
This performance is a great reminder of my artistic journey. It was a beautiful experience.

- Do you like the French lyrics of the song and the French dubbing of the movie?
Yes I do, I think it is very respectful of the original version.
I showed it to my little niece when she was 5 and she simply adored it and fell in love with the songs in French.

- Did you ever audition for other animated character?
I auditioned for The King and I (1999) and wasn’t selected. But I was chosen and I recorded one of the daughters in "Chelm", a little fairy in the magic adventures of Mumfie (the little elephant) and another one in Fern Gully.
I would have loved to dub Mary Poppins otherwise I am opened to surprises :)
