- What was your first dubbing?

The day before my 30th birthday I got called to do an audition for the movie Aladdin. My friend Marcio Lott was in the dubbing studio when the director Marcelo Coutinho asked if he knew someone for the voice of Jasmine. The next day I went to the audition and I got the role !
The recording was a very big deal for me, because everyone was expetecting so much of me. The studio had a huge screen where the scene took place while I had to sing the song. I've always been a fan of the disney movies and singing in one of them was a dream come true. However, I had already been working as a singer and back vocal of Brazilian artists for 10 years, so I had a certain experience

with singing, but still it was a very remarkable point in my career. I was only a singer at the time, so I only auditioned for the singing parts.
Joseph Carasso Jr. (Aladdin's singing voice) was a beginner and a student of Marcelo Coutinho and had no experience as a professional singer, but it was very fun recording with him. It was very inspiring sharing this experience with him. We recorded those songs together.

- How did you end up dubbing Ariel?

Marcelo Coutinho invited me to sing as Ariel in the TV series. I also auditioned for the 1998 redubbing (of the Little Mermaid) but the american director preferred the singer Kiara Sasso.

- How did you get the role as Pocahontas?

Again, I auditioned for the part. I got invited to audition by the American and Brazilian directors and I got the part.
The recording went great. I was 7 months pregnant. "Colors of the Wind" was a song that required a lot of my singing techniques, but it was an inspiring song to sing, and the fact that I was pregnant made things a little difficult.
It was an experience of a great vocal realization.

- How did you get the role of Megara in Hercules?

The dubbings of the disney blockbusters happen through auditions and I was invited to audition. ​I only auditioned for the singing parts of Megara. The greatest memory I have from dubbing Megara is winning the award for the best singing dub of Latin America.

- How was singing The Prince of Egypt's "When You Believe" with Kacau Gomes?

We recorded the song "When You Believe" seperatly, but it was a pleasure sharing a song with her. It was one of the hardest songs I ever recorded, but I couldn't hold my emotions while singing. It was a very emotional song to sing.
And it came out great; and I love the lyrics in portuguese. The words are very powerful.

- You've done several other roles in animation; have you ever tried out for a character that you eventually didn't get?

Yes, Mulan and Anastasia. I auditioned for both roles and I passed the test, but I could not record them at the time.

- What was your favourite role to dub?

Pocahontas was my favorite role to dub, but all of the roles I've dubbed are very special to me. "Colors of the Wind" remains my favorite Disney song of all time. It is very special song to me.
Today I dub speaking parts, but I prefer to sing in the studio than dubbing speaking parts.

- What was your best memory from a recording session?

The most special memory I have from dubbing is entering the studio to record "A Whole New World". I was very emotional watching the carpet scene on the big screen while recording.
